Why we consider you to be a parent.

We believe your pets are so much a part of your family that you are, to us, parents.

We love your pets as though they were our own.

Pinky’s Doghouse was created because of our belief that animals can and do love to be groomed. They talk to us and we listen.

Our special connection to professional grooming could be considered holistic. We are unique because we do not hurry through the process; we take our time with your pet.

How we make it fun.

Our salon does not feel like a production line. We are not in it for the money. We give your pet love as if he is our own. You will be comfortable here.  Your pet(s) will love it here — even if it takes a few visits.

Owner Karen Brown (aka Pinky) is passionate about grooming and the well-being of your pet. She has spent many years studying breed standard grooming as well as dog behavioral science. She has a knack with breed-specific cuts and loves to be creative and have a little fun while grooming.  Her one goal always has been to provide a place for your pet to be comfortable with and actually enjoy being groomed. Pinky’s Doghouse is your pet’s home away from home.

Where time equals trust.

You won’t find muzzles here. We believe a little bit of time, talk, and a good massage are all your pet needs to relax so he can get in the bath and be groomed — even if he’s a cat.

We make every effort to work with your pet at his or her own pace.

If you have had or been told by other grooming salons to tranquilize your pet we may ask that you allow us to have a first grooming session with your pet without tranquilizers.  This allows us to address specific issues your pet maybe having with the grooming procedures. They cannot tell us what is wrong if they are doped up.  We listen to your pet.

This can and will be a good experience. We read body language. We figure out what you pet does and does not like. We let them know we understand. We develop their trust so they know we are going to work together and have a good time.
